"James "Maggie" Megellas is the most decorated officer in the history of the famed 82nd Airborne Division. He earned that distinction in World War II. From the brutal fighting in Anzio, Italy to the suicidal crossing of the Waal River in small wood and canvas boats in Holland, "Maggie" Megellas led H-Company of the 504th parachute Infantry Regiment through some of the most horrific battles the war had to offer.
